For the past 20 years, UIC Liautaud has formed valuable partnerships with corporations across the globe to offer focused, cohorted MBA programs that meet a company's strategic needs. CMBA Programs are one year full-time degree programs that follow specific tracks, such as Strategic and International Business Management, Financial Markets and Risk Management, or Healthcare Management. UIC Liautaud’s robust student organizations complement the academic program by offering hands-on leadership and networking opportunities with faculty members, alumni and the business community. These organizations, all initiated, developed and led by students, reflect their interest in enriching the academic, social and community involvement that is part of their UIC Liautaud experience.
Accounting Club – The Accounting Club is a professional and social club for students interested in the field of accounting. The club helps foster relationships between students and firms and provides the necessary resources to improve this relationship. Active participation in the Accounting Club contributes to the academic, professional and social success of the accounting student.
Association for Latino Professionals for America - ALPFA at UIC is tailored for Latino Students studying Business at UIC. However, you do not have to be Latino or a business student to join. Students with different backgrounds and majors are welcome to take advantage of the following: networking, professional advancement, personal growth, volunteerism, job/internship placements. A support group is formed amongst all members as we create exposure to the corporate world through various mediums. Additionally, we have national support as we are an official ALPFA student chapter.
Beta Alpha Psi - Founded in 1919, Beta Alpha Psi is an honor organization for financial information students and professionals. There are over 300 chapters on college and university campuses with over 300,000 members initiated since Beta Alpha Psi's formation. The primary objective of Beta Alpha Psi is to encourage and give recognition to scholastic and professional excellence in the business information field. This includes: promoting the study and practice of accounting, finance and information systems, providing opportunities for self-development, service and association among members and practicing professionals, and encouraging a sense of ethical, social, and public responsibility.
Business Analytics Organization – The Business Analytics Organization promotes the intellectual and professional development of students with an interest in business analytics.
Graduate Finance and Investment Group – The Graduate Finance and Investment Group is an academic student organization dedicated to providing a codified framework to align career objectives with academic studies by offering guidance and mentorship to students so they can more easily work through the MBA curriculum. GFIG also strives to facilitate networking between upper level MBA students and incoming students, understanding that the learning process improves when we learn from one another.
Information Systems Audit & Control Association – ISACA is a leading professional association focused on IT governance, including IT audit, IT risk management, IT compliance, and information security management. ISACA publishes a widely used industry framework for IT governance called COBIT, administers popular professional certifications CISA (Certified Information Systems Auditor) and CISM (Certified Information Security Manager), is headquartered in Rolling Meadows, Illinois, and has approximately 90,000 members worldwide.
Institute for Operations Research and the Management Sciences – INFORMS serves the scientific and professional needs of OR/MS investigators, scientists, students, educators, and managers. It provides rational bases for decision making by seeking to understand and structure complex situations to predict and improve system behavior and performance. INFORMS is dedicated to advancing the development and dissemination of all aspects of Operations Research and the Management Sciences.
MBA Association – Membership in the MBAA allows students to engage in new opportunities for leadership, socializing, career networking, community service, and first-rate exposure to the Chicago business community. Throughout the course of the school year, MBAA provides a number of professional workshops and social outings to balance and integrate students academic, business, and social agendas.
Net Impact – Net Impact is an international non-profit organization comprised of graduate business students and professionals dedicated to social responsibility in business. The organization's mission is to inspire, educate and equip individuals to use the power of business to create a more socially and environmentally sustainable world and to strengthen a community of new leaders who use business to improve the world.
Operations Management Group – The Operations Management Group enhances operations and supply chain education and networking opportunities for MBA students so that they are exposed to current industry practices and develops relationships with fellow MBAs, alumni, and practitioners to become better prepared for a career advancement in operations management. The training workshops, exposure to local industry leaders, and networking opportunities that are supported through OMG greatly enhance the marketability of student members. OMG partners with companies in the Chicagoland Area to connect students with speakers, conduct facility tours, and increase awareness in what the current industry environment is seeking from leaders. OMG develops relationships between the Office of Career Services, companies, and recruiters to establish pathways to key leadership development and management positions. In addition to the external relationships with companies, OMG is focused on fostering relationships among its current students and alumni in order to establish career mentorship and support.
Women's Network – The Women's Network (formerly known as Women's Interest Network) was founded on the concept of empowering women in business through service, professional development and networking. WN is dedicated to supporting women MBAs in order to propel more women into leadership positions in corporate America and to enhance the diversity of the nation's workforce. The Women's Network is affiliated with MBA Women International (formerly NAWMBA, National Association of Women MBAs), an organization focused on encouragement and support for women.
